YOGA with SRI SHUBHA

Join Sri Shubha, Sri T Krishnamacharya’s youngest daughter, together with the One Yoga Community for a weekly online class with this joyful master teacher! You will not find many opportunities like this to study directly in the Krishnamacharya lineage in such an intimate and personal way.

All levels welcome. She teaches a wide variety of poses and pranayama each week.

VINYASA KRAMA with MINI SHASTRI

Please join us in welcoming our special guest teacher Mini Shastri for a special 90 minute Vinyasa Krama practice on Tuesday, April 29th at 5:30pm!

Mini Shastri is the Founder of Om Yoga Shala in Delhi, India and has over 2 decades of teaching experience and is also a wellness consultant and columnist.

Her teachings are shaped by her vast travel and study with Masters from Kerala , Bangalore , Mysore and with her Guru in Chennai, Srivatsa Ramaswami.

Her sessions have a traditional flavour yet pull from her personal transformations and background as a dancer and creatively altered for all levels and needs of practitioners.

 Mini 's teaching  style and interpretations unites the body and the breath through the creative linking of postures. It is a deep and quietening practice which will make you stronger and more flexible on the outside and softer (and more flexible) on the inside. A spiritual experience as classes end with pranayama ( breath control) and devotional mantras.

AN EVENING OF BHAKTI & KIRTAN with Shell and Anton

Embark on a transformative musical exploration with Shell and Anton as they guide you through the ancient Bhakti Yoga practice of Kirtan. This immersive experience delves into centuries-old techniques aimed at nurturing a tranquil heart and fostering a serene meditative state.

Bhakti is an orientation of Yoga which uses emotion, faith, trust and love to connect to our True Essence. Bhakti Yoga has many practices and techniques, and is the most widely followed and accessible path of Yoga around the world.

Kirtan, an artful fusion of call-and-response mantra repetition and live music, becomes a powerful medium under Shell and Anton's guidance. Join this communal celebration, where the resonance of mantras is intricately woven with the enchanting melodies of harmonium and drum. Throughout the workshop, Shell and Anton weave storytelling and provide insights into the meanings and intentions behind each mantra, creating a profound journey that uplifts moods and brings the community together in harmony.

No chanting or singing experience necessary. We repeat the mantras to express, not to impress.

HANDS-ON ASSISTS with CLARA

Hands On Adjustments Training

Hands-on assists can help students understand the alignment of the pose for their own bodies. Learn how to discern what is needed to help them gain awareness, proper alignment and perhaps go deeper.

Whether you're a teacher looking to assist your students in the standing series or a student looking to understand how to do the poses correctly in your own body, this workshop will benefit you.

DAY 1 - Adjustments 101 & The Standing Series 

Saturday June 7, 1:30-5:30pm

Creating a safe space for our students and ourselves is the most important task we have as yoga teachers in a class.

We’ll start the weekend discussing different methods for asking for consent, the difference between adjustments and enhancements, how to move around the room with confidence and different ways we can remain grounded as we teach.

Next we’ll go over poses in the Standing Series. We will cover the poses in the sun salutations as well as the standing series: triangle, side angle, warrior 1 &2, revolved chair, lunge and more.

Day 2 - Review & Application

Sunday June 8, 12- 4:30pm

We'll start with a 90 minute practice where Clara will apply many of the adjustments we worked on Day 1. We'll spend the next 3 hours going over the adjustments both in theory and practicing on each other. 

Yoga Teachers - Receive a CE certificate of 8.5 hours for Yoga Alliance. 

All participants will receive a printed manual of the adjustments.

Heart opening Asana & Philosophy with Nicki Doane

Are you feeling that something is missing in modern yoga today? Are you craving a practice that both honors and offers insights into you and your experience? A practice that is not focused solely on the poses, but also on the process of yoga as seen through the poses? If you answered yes to any of the above, then this workshop is for you. Through Nicki’s experienced teaching of Maya Yoga, learn to make the connection between the alignment of the poses and the alignment of the mind. Maya is a Sanskrit word that means “illusion” and refers to what we think and perceive as real in this world. Patanjali, the original OG yoga psychologist said that the easiest way to access our psyche is through our physical tissue. The asanas(poses) are a means and a vehicle to transformation because they give us practical tools that we can use everyday in our yoga practice. Through both Dynamic and restorative yoga practices Nicki will lead you through an experience of yoga in an intelligent, compassionate, supportive, and often humorous way that will leave you transformed.
